What classes do you offer?
We offer Wilderness First Aid, Wilderness First Responder, Wilderness Survival, WFA/ WFR Recertification Training, Bloodborne Pathogens, Disaster Preparedness, Community First Aid, Community CPR and Professional CPR. Please explore our site to learn about all of our courses.

 

How long does the class take? 
Please see the Related Course page for specific information on the class you're interested in.

 

How long is certification good for? 
Certification are valid for 3 Years.

 

Do you offer on-site training? 
Yes HWTI does have a training facility

 

When do you offer classes? 
We work with our clients to provide class times that will minimize impact on their staffing. We have the ability to offer classes at any time, including overnight.

 

How do I schedule a class? 
When it comes to registering for a class or hosting a class, you have many options. You may either register online or phone or email us.

 

What is the largest class size you can handle? 
We pride ourselves on being able to handle any training situation a client presents to us. HWTI will cater a training package that meets you facility's needs. Please give us reasonable notice when you have large groups so we may coordinate the logistics involved when working with larger groups. Also, be aware that large groups of people usually require multiple sessions due to standards on instructor to student ratios.

 

Do you offer certification tracking so I know when my employees’ certifications will expire?
HWTI has a customized database for certification tracking. We will automatically track and contact you in regards to expiring certifications within your organization.

 

 

 

Are all of your instructors Firefighters, EMTs, Paramedics, or experienced health care providers? 
We believe it is hard to teach someone about first aid or CPR when you have very little or no experience performing the skills. All classes are always lead by a Firefighter, Paramedic, or experienced emergency health care provider.

 

Do you offer any other classes not listed on your web site? 
HWTI has a wide array of classes available. If you do not see the class you are looking for, please contact us. If we do not offer the class ourselves, we can most likely recommend someone who does.

 

Do you offer any first aid kits or response bags? 
We can design and stock a First Aid Kit or emergency response bag to meet your specific needs. We do not offer inventory management or restocking services. Once you product is delivered, it becomes your responsibility for proper maintenance and restocking. 

 

What are the legal ramifications of training? 
When your employer provides training with the expectation for you to use it while on duty you now have a “Duty to act”. If you are not on duty when an emergency occurs and you intervene and help someone you will be protected by the “Good Samaritan Law”.

 

Do you sell AEDS? 
Yes we currently sell and provide all training for your AED sales and servicing needs.

 

How much room is required for class? 
We require a room that is large enough to handle the amount of people to be trained. Please ensure the facility has an ample amount of both seating and table space for mannequins. Practical's may be done on the floor if tables are not available.

 

Do I need audio or video equipment? 
We will provide all audio and video equipment necessary.

 

Is there a test? 
Certain curriculums require us to administer a short written and practical to attain the necessary certification.

 

Do you offer public classes that I can sign up for? 
We currently organize public classes as well as offer classes to groups who are interested in offering public classes to their organization such as churches, schools and other type of groups.

 

Does your training meet my business's training requirements for OSHA? 
All trainings we offer meet all Federal, Provincial, and local standards.

 

What if I have lost my card? 
Please contact us and we will have a card reprinted. There is a $5.00 fee

 

How long will it take to get my card? 
All cards are held until payment has been received in full. If we have the names beforehand, you can get your card the day of class or after, depending on how busy the training center is.

 

How does your pricing work? 
We will give you a price quote for up to the amount of students you ask for. We will also include a per student cost for extra students. If you would like a per head price it will require a minimum number of students and payment must be made in advance.

 

 

 

Will I still be charged for students that do not show up? 
Your invoice explains our billing policy for your specific class. We usually charge a flat rate for our services for up to a certain number of students, and that amount is expected in full at time of service unless other arrangements have been made with us in advance.

 

 

 

Does the price include materials? 
Yes, all materials required for the class are included.

 

 

 

What area do you service? 
We currently service Ontario and can travel outside Ontario when needed. we do have the ability to do remote training. Please contact us so we can cater a package that will meet your needs
