Scott is the Operations Manager and Chief Training Instructor, for the Highlands Wilderness Training Institute, in addition Scott is also the Medical Director for the Wilderness Traverse Adventure Race Series.

 

He is currently an active member of a local Volunteer Fire Department, possessing a strong background in the emergency services/ Rescue field and the medical field.

Currently an active instructor for both the Canadian Red Cross & The Emergency Care & Safety Institute in addition to having been a previous member of the Canadian Civil Air Search & Rescue based out of Yellowknife NWT and the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary. Scott brings a lot of experience with regards to dealing with search & rescue operations on both land and on the sea.

In addition Scott is a Wilderness EMT and an experienced Nursing Attendant who worked in the University of Alberta hospital in the Neurology Unit. Scott is currently working towards acquiring his paramedic certification. Scott founded the company based on having seen first hand what happens when people venture into the wilderness, unprepared to deal with unexpected emergencies. Having spent the last 2 years working in Canada's Arctic Region as an Arctic and Wilderness Survival Instructor, Scott has a great deal of experiences he can pass onto his students.

In addition Scott is a licensed commercial pilot with experience flying floatplanes around the North. Holder of The Royal Life Saving Society Bronze Medallion & Bronze Cross. PADI Open Water Scuba Diver.

In addition to being a PSW Personnel Support Worker Deanna is also an outdoor leadership  instructor. Deanna holds certification as a Wilderness & Standard First Aid Instructor, Deanna also holds certifications in her Royal Life Saving Society Bronze Medallion, Royal Life Saving Society Bronze Cross.

 

When Deanna is not running around in the bush teaching she also fills the role of the company administrator AKA the person who keeps things running day to day. She can often be found on courses playing the role of victim in some nasty scenario other instructors have dreamed up :) Deanna takes great pride in ensuring that the students experience is pleasurable and smooth from registration through to course completion.
