Course Delivery Formats

Based on the nature of the materials being taught the course delivery follows a unique format. Below you will find details on what to expect when you enrol in the course of your choosing.
With respect to group and or custom company training solutions:
Employers, Businesses or Groups wishing to receive training custom tailored to their needs or wish our instructors to come to their location should contact our administrator to discuss options on how we may custom tailor a training solution that meets your needs, and to receive a quote for pricing based on the size of your group & location etc.
For Individuals enrolling in our regular formatted courses:
Courses are run in the vicinity of Minden Ontario which is located in Haliburton County as well as in the Durham Region. Students enrolled in a survival course will meet at a pre-designated location where we will proceed as a group to the wilderness location where the skills training will be conducted.
All survival courses are held in an outdoor wilderness environment and as such students should come prepared for such environment with the appropriate clothing and items as per the suggested student packing list located on the top of the homepage on this website. The students will be required to print out and bring with them a copy of the Emergency Medical Contact & History Form as well as a copy of the Liability Forms.
Upon arriving at the pre-designated location students will be escorted by the course instructor to the site of the actual survival training. The sites are usually chosen for their local wilderness resources and for their remoteness from the usual amenities. Access to these locations maybe via Hike, ATV, Snowmobile or boat depending on the course, size of the group and the time of the year.
Students should not expect to have access to amenities such as electricity, phones, internet, cell phone signals or conventional washroom facilities.
Wilderness First Aid Courses:
Wilderness first aid courses follow a broader format based on the size of the group being trained. Students will be provided more details at the time of booking. However it should be noted that these courses are very hands on based and will again be conducted regardless of the weather with most scenarios occurring in an outdoor environment. Students should come with an open mind and a willingness to participate in the scenario activities. It is highly suggested that at least one pair of clothing that can be cut, or stained permanently by theatrical blood and moulage make-up be brought. Often clothing from valu village or salvation army stores is a cheap suitable choice. By making scenarios as realistic as possible we strive to ensure the maximum learning potential for the students in attendance.
